No More Yes, No, Maybe, Not Now—- IN JESUS NAME
Has God the Father ever denied a request from God the Son? If the answer is NO, then why are so many Christians under the misunderstanding that God would say NO to their prayer request? Perhaps it’s time for a paradigm shift and even more essential, time to discover what’s in a name.
YES, Jesus has given you a blank check with his signature on it. He has made you a promise, “whatsoever you ask In His Name.”
Listen to the Scripture found in John chapter 14 verses 13 and 14.
“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”
You see, — IN JESUS NAME, —that’s the key! In fact, Jesus was so serious about that statement, He practically repeated the same thing a few chapters later. Listen to what John chapter 16 verse 23b says.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.”
If you were not already convinced that God the Father is waiting to say YES to your prayers, then consider this additional statement by Jesus found in John chapter 15 verse 7.
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
I told you family, —-you see that, —-you hear that, —-so, what’s your problem?
Oh, I get it, not quite convinced, you’re wanting one more piece of supporting evidence than you’ll be all-in. Okay, how about this that’s found in First John chapter 5 verses 14 and 15.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”
Now, I know that many of you are shocked right now because you have prayed— IN JESUS NAME plenty of times. Some of you are saying, “I’ve been tagging “IN JESUS NAME” on the back of my prayers for years, even decades and still haven’t gotten what I’ve expected; I’m still waiting on wishes, goals, and request to come true.”
Well, if that is YOU, then say and do what Jesus said and did. YOU too must have your NEVERTHELESS mindset at all times. Luke chapter 22 verse 42 depicts Jesus saying,
“Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done” – (NKJV).
When you demonstrate this mindset, you do not see life through the lens of your own personal will, but rather through the lens of the one in whom you serve. Hence, Jesus although having His own desire, surrenders that impulse unto The Father and submits unto The Father’s goal and will. Thus, in an instant, Jesus’ request of The Father to “let this cup pass” –(KJV) isn’t answered with a YES, but rather in essence “I have something better.”
Of course, Jesus being God the Son, knew of the better plan just as He knows of the plan The Father has for each one of our lives. Because GOD see not only our situation and circumstance for today, but HE also sees it for tomorrow, next week, next year and the next generations that comes through us; HIS will is always better because HE has the complete picture.
In consideration of Luke chapter 22 verse 42, I have not found a NO response from God the Father anywhere in the verse, nor in the passage. Yet rather a surrendered will by Jesus to align His request to that of The Father’s will. Jesus lived His entire earthly life doing just that, submitting to God the Father. For He says in John chapter 6 verse 38, “For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.” May I ask you a question my brother or sister, “Since you have been born again, “born from above,” who’s will are you trying to fulfill?
This is most critical Saints of God because this is the example that Jesus is setting for everyone thereafter who would believe on Him, that we would submit our request to God the Father while simultaneously surrendering the outcome of that request to The Father’s will.
Jesus NEVER recognized a NO answer from God the Father, He only recognized that God the Father had the ultimate supreme plan, an “I have something better” plan if you will, and thus joyfully submitted to that plan. This is supported and validated by the author’s words found in Hebrews chapter 12 verse 2b.
“For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
When we recognize that our “Life” as a Christian is to reflect the character of Christ Jesus and to bring glory to our heavenly Father, then we to will pray as Jesus said, “Nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.” We will not view prayers as being answered Yes, No, Maybe, and Not Now, but rather Yes or “I Have Something Better.”
When we too realize as Martha stated in John chapter 11 verse 22, “But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask,” we won’t be inclined to say that God answers prayers with a Yes, No, Maybe, or Not Now. As GOD will never say no to The Son, nor will HE say no to those who come to HIM through The Son seeking to have their prayers heard and answered.
Jesus is our “Access” to God the Father, and as we “Align” our will and prayers under The Father’s will as Jesus demonstrated, then we have “Authority” from above to have our prayers not only heard but answered with a YES or “I Have Something Better.”
I ask the question again, “Has God the Father ever denied a request from God the Son?” The answer is no because The Son said, “Nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done.” May you do the same— IN JESUS NAME.
