Together We Stand

Brothers and sisters, SIN AND DIVISION have plagued humans for thousands of years and even now spreads like cancer amongst the population.

Today, according to recent Gallup studies, “74-83 percent perceive this nation (America) as divided when it comes to gender, age, race, political and educational views.”

Although, division is a significant problem among humans, JESUS, himself prayed for it not to occur WITHIN HIS CHURCH.  Hear the words of Jesus that Apostle John records in chapter seventeen of his gospel.

20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one as you are in me, Father, and I am in you.  And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”

Jesus sacrificed his life for two primary reasons.  Observe for yourself what Ephesians chapter two states.

13 But now you have been united with Christ Jesus.  Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.  14 For Christ himself has brought peace to us.  He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.  15 He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations.  He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself ONE new people from the two groups.  16 Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.

We see what Jesus did, but what are you willing to do?  Will you also seek to reconcile man to God and man to man by sharing the Gospel and standing for unity?  Ultimately, in the end Jesus will have His will performed, the only question will be as to whether you helped or hindered that effort.

See for yourself how His sacrifice will prove sufficient and bring us together.  Revelation chapter seven gives us a clear picture of the Father’s and Son’s love for togetherness.

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.  They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.  10 And they cried out in a loud voice:

“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”
