Pursuit of Purpose

on
April 19, 2017

I spoke to a friend a few days ago,
She helped me realize something I didn’t know,
She spoke of her dream which was to help her town,
Because no one else cared or even hung around,

Certified, she’s a medical doctor now,
On her way back home to heal those frowns,
How sweet it is, a dream come true,
Her purpose in life she always knew,

However, I am not so fortunate in that aspect,
Because my purpose is a mystery and still not a fact,
Why are some chosen and shown the way,
To fulfill their purpose of their day,

Then there are those who are like myself,
Walking through life with purpose on a shelf,
A crowded shelf for me to clear,
In hope to bring purpose front and near,

And then there are those who came and went,
Never to find purpose just served time spent,
With God’s blessing, I will be shown,
My purpose in life that is still unknown.  ©

Now it’s your turn, where are you? Are you in the know, the search, or the never to find? The wisest man in the world once conducted a search for purpose, and he recorded,

“Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind.
For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 NIV).
