Restoration Rejection
I called out for you
But you wouldn’t listen,
I screamed out for you
But you wouldn’t listen,
I reached out for you
But you pushed me away,
I brought crisis and joy
But you still didn’t turn,
Now I talk, nor reach anymore
No longer drawing as before,
I’ll agree with your will and say goodbye
Never to speak until you die,
I’ve accepted that we’re not to be
You’ve shunned to be apart of my family,
Left to your righteousness, which are filthy rags
Piling up wrath in your sinful bags,
Light and darkness cannot share space
Your hardened heart has turned my face,
There’s nothing more to say, except
I never wanted to see this day.
“[The LORD] is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9 NIV).
