A Mind Is A Terrible Thing to Waste!

A Mind Is A Terrible Thing to Waste. Perhaps you have heard this slogan before.  This campaign was launched in 1972 by the United Negro College Fund to raise money for minorities desiring to attend college.  Since then, millions of dollars have been raised, and thousands have attended and graduated college.  The slogan itself is self-explanatory and going by the numbers it appears to have been a successful campaign.  However, a closer examination reveals that not everyone supported or believed the campaign.  Over an equal period, the incarceration rate of minorities has increased.  Roughly 2.3 million of the 6.8 million inmates are minorities, that’s a whopping rate of 34%. Yet, I know of an even more urgent campaign, and have coined a slogan: “A Message Is A Terrible Thing to Waste”.

“For Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?  And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”  But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, “Lord, who has believed our message?”  So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” – Romans 10:13-17 (NLT)

Failure to support the slogan and be a carrier of the message will result in being beat with many strips; failure to believe this campaign will result in your imprisonment, but this imprisonment will be eternal, and there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
