The End of Truth?
The proverb “there’s nothing new under the sun” could not be truer. “There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof…her priests have violated my law…her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey…and the people of the land have used oppression” – Ezekiel 22:25-29 (KJV). Just as those in trusted positions of authority and leadership led the citizenry astray in the past, so too are they leading them adrift today. The president, politicians, pastors, and others with large platforms are still lying to the people. Cries of “stop the steal” ring out across America in protest to the recent presidential election. Those who were quick to claim “fake news” are the very producers of it. Even more sad is the fact that the people are lying to themselves, which is the ultimate betrayal, self-deception.
Thankfully, there is a remnant of those who still uphold truth, and the character of Christ, one Brad Raffensperger. Brad Raffensperger is a modern-day Daniel, who refused to bow down to the king’s [president’s] pressure and the pressure of his servants. No, Brad isn’t perfect but he’s an example of courage in crisis and his truthfulness radiates bright in a dark, dark world. I’m thankful that the eternal Spirit of Truth lives in and through him as he maintains his commitment to Christ and not man. No, truth hasn’t ended, but unfortunately neither has the “alternative facts.”
