FINISHING STRONG
There are several ways to reach the finish line. However, there’s only one way to truly finish, FINISHING STRONG! FINISHING STRONG is the difference between reaching the finish line and collapsing in exhaustion versus running past the finish line in full stride and arms erect. FINISHING STRONG is the difference between simply crossing the finish line versus running through the finish line tape!
So, I ask you, “How shall you finish? How will the final pages of your story be written? How shall the final leg of the race we call life conclude for you? Your culmination is in your charge. Yet, what remains to be seen is how you finish or if you even finish at all.
“So Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in the land of Moab, just as the Lord had said. The Lord buried him in a valley near Beth-peor in Moab, but to this day no one knows the exact place. Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever” – Deuteronomy 34:5-7 (NLT).
“As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing” – 2 Timothy 4:6-8 (NLT).
“Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture he said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of sour wine was sitting there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put it on a hyssop branch, and held it up to his lips. When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit” – John 19:28-30 (NLT).
