Praying Passionately

on
October 29, 2024

When one first hears the phrase “praying passionately” what comes to mind?  Certainly, an emotion comes to mind.  Perhaps even the word fervent comes to mind, but does the word laboring, struggling, and wrestling come to mind?  This is the image Apostle Paul would like you to have when talking about “praying passionately.”

“Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured” – Colossians 4:12 (NIV).

Unfortunately, far too many Christians seek to have the ease of the microwave type results when it comes to prayers, they want it quick, fast, and in a hurry.  However, we must consistently do our part by praying without ceasing with pure and sincere motives with no other purpose in mind other than seeing God’s will performed and His Word fulfilled.  When we pray wholeheartedly in Spirit and truth, godly results will follow.
