Overcome

God doesn’t require you to be perfect– JESUS fulfilled that, but God does require you to finish the work HE has assigned You to do.

• James puts it this way in chapter one, verse12 of his epistle, “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”

• Apostle Paul says likewise in 2 Timothy, chapter four,  verses 7 & 8, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. ⁸ Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

• Apostle John depicts  7 times in Revelation chapters two & three that you must overcome in order to receive a commendation from God and makes special mention of being faithful unto death in chapter two, verse 10.
  • Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Therefore, be intentional about your salvation and live your life on purpose for His purpose.  Examine yourself to see if you’re really “in the faith;” make your calling and election sure by evaluating yourself against His Word and not your neighbor.
