Grow in Your Faith
The author of Hebrews writes in chapter five verse eight, “Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.” As a disciple, you too are charged with learning—you too are charged with growing in wisdom. As a disciple, you too are charged to do the same thing Jesus did—submit & surrender. That’s not easy and may not be popular thinking—but you must learn to think for yourself.
Most people want to take the path of least resistance. Who amongst us enjoys conflict? Who amongst us welcomes difficult circumstances? Who amongst us seeks to be rejected? Many believe there’s wisdom in going with the flow—just do what everyone else is doing and all will be well. However, you’re called—to be different, called—to make a difference, even called—to be the light and salt on the earth.
Brothers, you may not grow any further in stature, but you must continue to grow in wisdom and learn to think for yourself. YOU must know what’s true according to God’s Word. Following popular opinion could lead to the wide gate and broad road unto destruction. Conversely, when you learn to think for yourself and follow the Word of God—that pathway leads to true success and eternal life.
